The edge is refined through finer abrasives and finished on leather strops for exceptional sharpness.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does sharpening take?

Most knives take about 30 minutes per knife, depending on blade condition, steel type, chips, and edge damage. Larger orders, repairs, specialty tools, or mail-in sharpening may require additional turnaround time.

Will sharpening remove a lot of steel?

No. Proper sharpening removes only the steel needed to restore a clean, consistent edge. Aggressive grinders can remove too much material or overheat the blade, so we focus on controlled sharpening that protects the life of the knife.

Do you offer mail-in sharpening?

Not yet. We're currently developing a secure mail-in service that meets our standards for packaging, tracking, and safe return shipping. We'd rather launch it the right way than rush the process. Stay tuned!

How should I care for my sharpened knife?

To keep your edge performing at its best, always hand wash and dry your knife immediately after use. Cut only on wood or quality plastic cutting boards, avoid glass, stone, or ceramic surfaces, and store your knife in a block, sheath, or on a magnetic strip. Regular honing will help maintain the edge between professional sharpenings and extend the time between services.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept cash, Zelle, Apple Pay, Venmo, Cash App, and other popular digital payment methods. Credit and debit card payments are coming soon.

MAIL-IN COMING SOON

We're building a mail-in sharpening program to make North Edge available nationwide. It's not quite ready yet—we're taking the time to make sure every knife is tracked, protected, and returned safely. Check back soon for updates.
